-Appearance: Colorless to yellow liquid.
-Solubility: Soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol, chloroform and dichloromethane.
-Melting point: approximately -50°C.
-Boiling point: about 200°C.

Use:
- 3-(2-formylphenyl)-2-(E)-acrylic acid tert-butyl ester can be used as an intermediate in the synthesis of organic compounds for the preparation of pharmaceuticals, pesticides, dyes and other chemicals.

Preparation Method:
- 3-(2-formylphenyl)-2-(E)-acrylic acid tert-butyl ester can be obtained by acylation of 2-formylbenzaldehyde with vinyl tert-butyl ether in the presence of a suitable catalyst.
